Board News - August 2025

The Board meeting began by reading from Luke 24:1-7. The resurrection of Jesus is foundation of our faith and provides us a living hope. Whatever the ‘stone’ is that confronts us, Jesus has the power to roll the stone away. The same spirit that raised Jesus now lives in us, giving us power for daily living. Even as parents, we have what we need. His resurrection power is at work in us today.

Tonight we had Deputy Principal Lisa Wilks-Beasy with us to present a report. The board continues to be encouraged by the work of the staff at St Andrews. It is wonderful to hear the reputation of St Andrews Christian College is spreading abroad to Hong Kong. How amazing to have 38 leaders from Christian Schools in Hong Kong visit and be encouraged in their work. Thank you to the staff and students who were involved.

We congratulate our Business Manager Darren Waterworth and his wife on celebrating their 40th anniversary recently. May the Lord continue to bless them. We also thank him and the team for their careful and wise stewardship of the resources of the College.

The Risk Committee are a proactive group helping to ensure the Board and College are ready in the case of different kinds of emergencies. While we hope we are never faced with these situations, we should all be thankful there are people giving this some thought.

The “Student Safety Definitions” policy was updated and approved. This will be reviewed again in 2027.
