Board News - June 2025
Our principal opened our June meeting with a reminder from James 1:1-12 that the testing of our faith, in the trials that come, we should ‘count it as joy’.
Our Chair & Vice-Chair are both away this week, and we were pleased to have Thomas Chong leading the Board tonight.
Nick Haines spoke to us about the staff at St Andrews, highlighting some of the professional development and training that some staff are working through. We are encouraged by this and trust it will be a great experience for them.
Did you know that the College is supporting a school in Nepal? Ten children have come to Promise Bilingual School to live and study due to the sponsorship raised here. A group from St Andrews will be visiting Nepal in January. Please be praying for this team as they prepare.
The life of a teacher is a very full one, particularly around report writing time. Please give them every encouragement in your words, and in your prayers.
We are grateful for the ongoing work of our sub-committees. This month we received reports from the Finance and Risk Sub-Committees.
We have reviewed the Student Safety Responsibilities Policy and have noted there are areas of this policy we as a Board can improve on. These areas will be acted on before our next meeting.
We also reviewed the Responding to Student Safety Policy and noted that some contact details need to be updated.
Both policies will be reviewed again in 2027.
