Board News - November 2023

Two important things happened before the formal meeting tonight. First, we began with a shared dinner. It is good for the members of the board to meet together outside of the board room and to enjoy each other's company. Second, we had a tour through the upper level of the new building. And it is amazing.

Some of the students have begun using these areas already, and the word is that they love it too.

Our devotion tonight brought us to Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 and the parable of the talents. From here we considered the issue of Risk and Prudence and determining how we balance these in our decisions. Without faith, we won’t do anything. In faith, we can step out and, with wisdom, take a risk. Jesus walks with us in all things.

We were saddened to hear that Tamie Dekker is leaving St Andrews. Tamie has been a tireless worker at St Andrews for many years and has had a profound impact on many. We thank you, Tamie, for all you have done and pray God’s blessing on you and your family.

Our Principal’s report led us to the strategic plan for St Andrews. In early 2024, this will be available on a new website for the whole community to access and read. You will hear more about this at the start of the school year. Please give time to reading this.

St Andrews is blessed to have a Business Manager, Darren Waterworth, and finance team who balance risk and prudence well. We have been able to extend our buildings without delay, and our finances are healthy without being excessive.

The Finance Sub-Committee has presented a budget for 2024 to the Board, and after a presentation from our Business Manager, the Board has tonight approved that budget. In doing so, we believe this budget provides the financial resources the College requires to continue our mission.

Congratulations to all students who have finished their education lives at St Andrews Christian College. We pray that God will bless you abundantly as you live your lives to His glory.
