Meeting during the school holidays can be tricky, not knowing who is going to be available and who is travelling. But the Board members were available, even from North Qld! Well done everyone.

In our devotion tonight we considered our role as stewards of all that God has given us. We were reminded of Ps 24 (The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it) and Matthew 25 (to everyone who has, more will be given). How do we strike a balance between being careful and being bold, between ‘what can we afford’ and ‘what do we need to do to grow’? It was a good discussion. We continue to pray for God’s guidance and courage.

The Board met together on Saturday 9th of September to do some strategic thinking. We were joined by Lisa Wilks-Beasy and Michael Swanborough for the morning session, and we always appreciate the extra time given by these key leaders to the College. With our principal, Nick Haines attending, we gave prayerful thought to what we might see at St Andrews in 2040. Now we work and wait to see what will happen.

We congratulate everyone involved in Performing Arts at StACC, those who were playing in ensembles at school, and those who received awards in the Victorian Schools music Festival.

The building work continues at a good pace. In September we will see the completion of the painting and joinery, fit out of toilets and kitchen areas, continuing site works and starting on paving and the entry area. We plan to have the areas ‘operating’ in November. We thank everyone involved in making this happen.

The College Conflict of Interest Policy was reviewed and approved. It will be reviewed again in September 2024

The following board roles were voted on and approved –

Sharon Rowland was re-appointed to the Board for a three-year period, and approved as Secretary for a further 1 year term.

Peter Lewis approved to continue as Board Vice Chair for a further one year term.

James Bligh approved to continue as Board Chair for a further two year term.

We thank these people for their long term commitment to the Board at St Andrews Christian College.
